Lone Star Citrus Growers announced that Kevin Roberts joined the sales team, effective Aug. 24. Roberts brings with him more than 30 years of produce experience, including 13 years
of Texas Citrus experience with Healds Valley Farms and most recently Wonderful Citrus.

“We are excited to have Kevin join our team. His skills and insight will be an asset to our already seasoned sales staff,” said T.J. Flowers, vice president of operations and sales. “With about six weeks to go until the upcoming harvest, he is coming in at the most opportune time.”

The team expects to begin light shipping in early Oct. and will hit full stride by mid-November, marketing its Winter Sweetz brand. Roberts’ experience and industry contacts will help expand
the brand’s distribution and promote increased consumption of Texas grown citrus, a central tenet of the company mission.

As the last family-owned, conventional Texas citrus operation, LSCG champions Texas citrus and prizes its Rio Grande Valley roots. “It is great to be a part of a truly Texas-born organization, and I hope to complement the talent and years of experience we have here,” said Roberts.
