RE: D. Otani Produce’s Coronavirus COVID-19 Statement
Dear Valued Customers,
As a valued client of D. Otani Produce (DOP), we appreciate the trust you place in our people and us whenever we do business together. In the current environment involving the coronavirus, we are providing an update on how we are handling the situation safely and effectively at DOP.
Our Management team is monitoring information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and federal, state and local agencies to help ensure the actions we're taking are in line with the latest recommendations and guidance. We are then communicating regularly with our employees to keep them informed and to ensure their safety and that of our customers.
Our routine for our facility is to make sure surfaces are cleaned and disinfected regularly throughout the day and before closing. Terminals have hand sanitizers available at counters and exit points. We encourage Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) throughout the year.
- Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue and then dispose of properly.
- Understand the symptoms of the flu; stay home when sick.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
- When possible, wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds; if soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer (60-95% alcohol).
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.

We are currently incorporating the latest Food Safety handling and storing procedures in our day-to-day servicing of restaurants and hotels. We provide a safe environment from field to store as additional assurance for our customer’s confidence.
We compliment our own Food Safety program by dealing with growers both large and small who also are implementing Food Safety Practices. These companies provide us with quality and consistency, which we find, equates to value.
