Late in the evening on Saturday, March 14, 2020, Tops Friendly Markets learned that one associate who works out of the corporate headquarters in Williamsville, NY, tested positive for COVID-19. This individual, who is under self-quarantine at a personal residence, last reported to work on Monday, March 9.

Additionally it was also determined that the associate had limited contact with fellow co-workers at the corporate office. Furthermore, the associate was in a non-retail position and thus had no contact outside of the office building with Tops stores, warehouses, and any other facilities we operate.

Tops said it has been in open communication with the Erie County Department of Health and will continue to take all appropriate measures to mitigate potential exposure opportunities and to ensure the safest environment possible for associates and for customers.

"We have shared this information with all our associates as well as simple measures they should take to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases," the company said in a statement.

Tops completely sanitized the corporate offices prior to the opening of business today. "We will also be implementing additional restrictions on third-party access to corporate headquarters," the company said.
