Jack Holland Cain Sr., a long-time employee of Norfolk, VA-based Catalytic Generators, died peacefully on Thursday, Oct. 17, 2019. He was 85.
Working in agriculture most of his career, Mr. Cain spent many years showing the fresh produce industry ethylene application systems and helping them to provide ready-to-eat fruit. He helped to introduce new products, was dedicated to the industry and forged many relationships with ripeners across North America. In 2015, Mr. Cain retired as vice president after 38 years.
“Jack was more than just a work associate or vendor, he truly was a dear friend,” said Greg Akins, chief executive officer and president at Catalytic Generators. “With his positive attitude, friendly demeanor and sense of humor, Jack made many friends in the produce industry. He will be missed.”
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Jeanette, and his children, Jack, Sherry and Debbie, plus many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
