Bob Palmer, executive vice president and chief procurement officer, will retire from C&S, effective Sept. 30.
Palmer has been a critical leader in the C&S family for more than 30 years. "He has played an important role in C&S’s legacy," the company said in a statement. "Bob has enabled our growth through a laser focus on exceptional customer service, the establishment of a best-in-class procurement discipline and the progression of C&S’s expansion plans."
Palmer has been responsible for the management of all procurement, merchandising, marketing, trade relations and supply chain initiatives in perishables and non-perishables. He joined C&S in February 1986 as head buyer and served as the director of procurement until 1995 when he was promoted to vice president. He was promoted to senior vice president of nonperishable procurement in October 1996.
