Four Hannaford Supermarkets are celebrating the completion of renovation projects that added fresh and convenient variety, and brought many new services and items to the greater Portland, ME, area. All four stores have been updated throughout and have a fresh new looks. Fresh food is highlighted in the new design, and the expanded produce department now has the abundant feel of a green grocery store within the supermarket.
With the completion of the remodels, all four stores now have Hannaford to Go, a service that allows customers to order groceries online and pick up their order at the store. Nearly every item in the store is available for purchase through Hannaford To Go, and store associates personally select each item for individual customer orders.
“We’re excited to offer our customers more convenient and fresh options while also maintaining our commitment to low everyday prices,” said Ericka Dodge, spokesperson for Hannaford. “The new renovations show how Hannaford is investing in services like Hannaford to Go and offerings like our expanded kitchen that will provide even more options for our customers. We understand that with today’s busy lifestyle fresh and quality are still important—and we deliver on that promise.”
Aimed at providing fresh and convenient options for customers who are busy, the stores have expanded their in-store kitchens. Key among its offerings include an in-store sushi chef, hand-battered fried chicken, in-store prepared sandwiches and salads, and a hot bar with entrée options. Two stores have also added a stir-fry bar. The supermarkets have expanded its convenience, with many new offerings such as a “pick your own six-pack” of beer section, freshly cut grab-and-go seafood, and freshly sliced grab-and-go deli offerings.
Additionally, the pharmacies of all four stores have been expanded so that customers will have access to a private consultation room to speak privately with their pharmacist or receive an immunization.
Also among the key amenities are expanded self-check out registers.
Hannaford Supermarkets, based in Scarborough, ME, operates 181 stores in the Northeast and employs more than 26,000 associates.
