Tops Friendly Markets LLC announced today that as part of its capital plan a major remodel of approximately $2 million dollars is being invested into its store located in Cheektowaga, NY. Expected to be completed in July of 2019, this remodel entails an expansion of the stores produce, bakery and deli/carry out café areas, which will now include seating. 
Shoppers will also find a wide selection of natural and organic offerings as well as meal solutions to choose from. New flooring, enhanced LED lighting, cart corrals, shopping carts, as well as a whole new interior décor will give the store a refreshed and vibrant appearance. Customers will also notice a new beer/beverage area, renovated pharmacy as well as renovated restrooms. Added conveniences like Tops Home Delivery with Instacart will also enhance their experience.

During the normal course of business Tops has also decided not to renew its lease on its property located at 1770 Broadway, in Buffalo, NY. This location is the oldest facility for Tops in Erie County and the business has made the decision with the lease expiring in August of 2019 to no longer operate this location. With the major remodel taking place at the Cheektowaga location (which is less than two miles from this location), as well as recent renovations that have taken place at other Tops stores, Tops feels it can focus its efforts on these neighboring stores to benefit the people in the immediate area around the Broadway & Bailey corridor. There are 11 stores in a five-mile radius and six stores within a three-mile radius of the Broadway Tops.
The 57 associates who are currently employed at the Buffalo location will all be offered employment at another Tops. All other Tops stores are expected to remain open, continuing to provide customers the convenience, savings, and friendly service that they expect.
