Wilcox Fresh welcomes new CEO

Floyd Wilcox & Sons Inc., a grower and shipper of Idaho potatoes based in Rexburg, ID, doing business as Wilcox Fresh, has announced the hiring of Justin Reynolds as the company’s new chief executive officer.Justin-Reynolds

Reynolds has been involved in Idaho agriculture for 15 years in roles ranging from labor and production management to financial services and corporate leadership. Prior to joining Wilcox, Reynolds served as chief financial officer for R&G Potato Co., a firm specializing in chipping potatoes, with headquarters in American Falls, ID, and operations in several other states.

As a member of the executive management team at R&G,  Reynolds participated in and helped guide strategic planning for operations company-wide and worked to maintain productive relationships with growers, vendors, customers and industry partners.

Previously Reynolds worked in agriculture specific financial services with Northwest Farm Credit Services. In his time with Farm Credit, Justin worked in roles ranging from direct customer relationship management, focused on row crops and cattle, to underwriting of large syndicated financing packages for projects such as vineyards, commercial crab fishing vessels, and vertically integrated agribusiness processing facilities.

Reynolds holds an undergraduate degree in business from at Brigham Young University–Idaho in Rexburg and an MBA from Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, ID.

Originally from Cody, WY, Reynolds now resides in Pocatello, ID, with his wife, Nicole, and their three children.

As the new CEO of Wilcox Fresh, Reynolds will be working closely with the owners and executive team to build synergy across the various divisions and departments of the family business, drawing from the experience and expertise of many industry veterans within the company.

His responsibilities will include “seeking out new opportunities for growth and partnerships as the company continues pushing forward,” according to the company.

“We are excited to bring Justin into our Wilcox family,” said Company President Lynn Wilcox. “His presence will help ensure the continuity and cohesion of our business as we grow into the next generation.”

Wilcox & Sons was founded in 1948 by Floyd Wilcox and his three sons, Keith, Leroy and David, in a 7,000-square-foot facility in Thornton, ID. Today, the company operates out of a 98,000-square-foot facility equipped with cutting-edge technology under the guidance of the third generation, with brothers Lynn, Terry and Ron at the helm. Lynn Wilcox, president, also served as CEO prior to the hiring of Reynolds. Ron Wilcox is vice president, and Terry Wilcox is executive secretary. Derek Peterson is vice president of sales and marketing.

Wilcox Fresh offers a full line of potatoes, including russets, reds, yellows and fingerlings as well as red, yellow and white Spanish onions.
