walmeeWalmart Canada is launching its annual fundraising campaign for Children’s Miracle Network Canada.

This year’s campaign called “On the frontline to help kids live better,” aims to raise millions of dollars for children’s hospitals. Walmart is inviting its associates and customers to come together from May 14 to June 7 to donate at the checkout and online on Walmart.ca to support kids across Canada.

Walmart will also generously match customer donations, with a corporate matching grant of $820,000. Since 1994, Walmart Canada has grown to become Children’s Miracle Network’s largest corporate sponsor, raising $150 million for the organization.

“Supporting children's hospitals right now is crucial to helping kids across Canada live better and stay safe,” said Mark Hierlihy, CEO and president of Canada’s Children’s Hospital Foundations, who heads up Children’s Miracle Network in Canada. “We are incredibly grateful for all Walmart associates for their bravery on the retail frontlines, and for their willingness to support the doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals who are on the medical frontline for kids every day. When we choose to come together, we’re stronger.”

“While it’s not business as usual at Walmart, our commitment to Children’s Miracle Network remains as strong as ever and now more than ever these hospitals need our help,” said Haio Barbeito, president and CEO, Walmart Canada. “We are proud to do our part, working the frontlines alongside amazing healthcare professionals, supporting the children in our communities who need us the most during these challenging times.”

All the money raised directly benefits the Children’s Miracle Network Canada member hospitals, which use the funds based on what they need most — providing lifesaving equipment and research, supporting top therapy programs and providing charitable care.
