Sunkist Growers offers more than 40 varieties of fresh quality citrus, which is what the company will be showcasing at this year’s Southern Exposure. Attendees can visit the Sunkist “We Are Citrus” booth (#204) for innovative ideas, a look at Sunkist packaging, merchandising displays and promotional programs to drive citrus sales.SUN12-Sangria-Final-2-for-web

“It’s peak Sunkist citrus season and there are promotable volumes of all of our crops,” said company representative Christina Ward. “To top it off, the fruit is eating great, and with more than 40 varieties, we have something that appeals to every taste. Sunkist Navel oranges are coming in sweet, and Sunkist specialty varieties such as the Cara Cara navels and Blood oranges continue to see an increase in popularity with consumers. We have good supplies of these sweet and popular citrus through May.”

Sunkist fresh citrus, available now through May, includes Minneola tangelos and California W. Murcott mandarins. Gold Nugget mandarins made it to scene in mid-February, and the Ojai Pixie variety came online this month.

In addition to seasonal specialties, Sunkist offers lemons, limes and grapefruit year-round. The weather and above normal precipitation is contributing to the size, health and strength of the crops in Sunkist’s California lemons coastal production regions. Plus, California Star Ruby grapefruit is coming on board this month and will finish in October with Marsh Ruby grapefruit.
