The New England Produce Council and the Organic Produce Network announced that Brian Fleming of Stop & Shop Supermarket, Kevin Barry of Big Y Foods and Mark Jewell of Hannaford Bros. Supermarket will speak at the retailer roundtable on May 1 at the New England Organic Produce Conference being held at Gillette Stadium.
“We are very excited these produce professionals are taking time out of their busy schedules to share their expertise,” said Laura Sullivan, NEPC executive director. Matt Seeley of OPN and Mark DeMichaelis of Olivia’s Organics/State Garden will co-moderate the session. Olivia’s Organics is sponsoring the retailer roundtable.
In addition to retailers on the panel, the following buyers have committed to attending: Big Y Foods, BJ’s Wholesale, Boston Organics, Bozzuto’s Inc., C&S Wholesale Grocers Inc., Crosby’s Markets Inc., Donelan’s Supermarket, Hannaford Supermarket, Market Basket, RI Organics, Roche Bros., Shaw’s Supermarkets Inc., Stop & Shop and Whole Foods — with more retailers expected to join.
