Molina-jalisco-3The annual Sonora Spring Grape Summit has been postponed because of health concerns.

The Asociacion Agricola Local de Productores de Uva de Mesa, which hosts the annual meeting, announced March 13 that the highlight of the event, which is the Mexican grape crop forecast, will be shared on YouTube at noon Pacific time on March 19. This is when the meeting was otherwise scheduled in Tubac, AZ.

Juan Laborin, AALPUM’s general director, said, “The primary purpose of the summit is to provide timely information to all stakeholders to promote the orderly marketing of the upcoming grape crop. That need for information still exists. The event management team is currently working to have a live broadcast, on our official YouTube page Mexico Table Grapes, so that the crop estimate and other presentations can be shared by all.”

He added, “During these days, we have been analyzing the situation that surrounds us around COVID‐19. Our priority is to maintain safety, health, and reduce the risk of any type of affliction for our attendees, growers, chain stores, staff and sponsors.

“For this reason, AALPUM regrets to announce that its annual Sonora Spring Summit, scheduled for March 19 in Tubac has been postponed. After much consultation with authorities and industry partners, AALPUM feels the duty and the responsibility to take this action.”

For those already registered for the event, tickets will to be transferred for the new date of the event or refunded if preferred.

“To our sponsors, we want to thank you for your valuable support as always and want to inform you that in the same way, your sponsorship is valid for the new date of the event. For more information, contact Arely Ferra at aferra@aalpum.org or via phone at 52+662/260-0177.
