London Fruit is expanding its clamshell line this December.

A Dec. 10 press release from the firm promoted the new items as “a wonderful holiday idea for merchandising product.”

The firm is offering two- and four-pack avocados and six- and eight-count limes in clamshells. London Fruit, which is based in Pharr, TX, has been “very successful” in marketing Honey mangoes in clams.

Jerry Garcia, London Fruit vice president, stated: “The clamshells will deliver convenience, protection, stackability, and cost effectiveness compared to bagged fruit. We believe this program will be a winner!”

Mario Cardenas, salesman, added, “We’re very optimistic about packaging our products and hope customers will try this new packaged line of products in their produce departments. It’s an evolving program and we hope to private label with this as well.”

London Fruit is to debut their new items at the Dec. 12 New York Show, from Booth No. 202 at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City.
