Kenny Bennett, L&M’s longtime farm manager and business partner in Moultrie, GA, died Monday, Sept. 17. Mr. Bennett is remembered by L&M as a person who always had a smile for everyone, a quick wit that could light up any room and a passion for life that was contagious. He is also remembered for his many fun pranks, his compassionate friendship and his tireless dedication to the farm.

"Kenny was kind and generous to everyone he met; and if you met him once, he’d call you a friend,” said Adam Lytch, operations manager for L&M farms.

Mr. Bennett began farming as a young man in Moultrie in 1969 and spent his life dedicated to growing quality vegetables that he was proud to serve to others as well as his own family. Mr. Bennett began farming for L&M in the early 90s, and the company said it was lucky to have him as a valued employee and friend for many years until his death.

"In this holiday season, L&M is also thankful for the many family members left behind," the company said in a statement. "Farming runs deep in Kenny’s family and he has many family members left to follow in his footsteps on the farm."

Mr. Bennett is survived by his wife, Peggy Barber Bennett of Moultrie; son, Brett Bennett and wife Jennifer of Moultrie; daughter Becky Bennett Clifford and husband Tom of Valdosta; grandchildren, Logan Jack Bennett and Brody Heath Bennett; brother, Chandler Bennett and wife Kathy of Colquitt; sister, Laverne Nash and husband Clifford of Moultrie; nephews, Bobby Cooper and wife Kristy and Timmy Cooper and wife Wendy, all of Moultrie; niece, Nicole Gaston and husband Matt of Hahira; also Bert and Brandy Kight of Moultrie.
