Family owners, McAllen city officials, financiers and others gathered Feb. 20 at the McAllen, TX, construction site of a new cold storage for GR Fresh. GR Fresh broke ground on its new warehouse in Mission’s Sharyland Business Center after overcoming bureaucratic setbacks. This is five minutes away from its current location in McAllen, TX. The company hopes to be in the new facility in a year.
The new building “will raise our level of participation with our customers,” said Tony Incaviglia, vice president sales and marketing. “We will be more productive and have more room to spread out for loading and receiving. It’s a big step in the right direction.”
Ultimately, the facility will be as large as 120,000 square feet. The first phase will be half that size.
