The Canadian Produce Marketing Association congratulated Minister Marie-Claude Bibeau on her appointment as Canada’s minister of agriculture and agri-food. CPMA will continue to work closely with the minister and her staff on important files impacting the fresh produce industry, including tax reform, a food policy for Canada, food safety, payment protection for produce sellers and labour.
“The fresh produce supply chain is an important economic driver in Canada,” said CPMA President Ron Lemaire. “CPMA looks forward to meeting with Minister Bibeau to discuss how we can continue growing the economy while ensuring that we remain competitive as an industry.”
CPMA said it would also like to thank Minister Lawrence MacAulay for his years of service as minister of agriculture and agri-food and his steadfast support of the fresh produce industry in Canada. CPMA wished MacAulay well in his new role as minister of veterans affairs.
