Aldi recalls peaches due to Salmonella contamination

peachealAs a precautionary measure, ALDI is voluntarily recalling assorted peaches received from its supplier, Wawona Packing Co., due to possible Salmonella contamination.

ALDI has removed the affected peaches from select ALDI stores in Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, North Dakota, New Hampshire, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Vermont, Virginia, Wisconsin and West Virginia. The items were also available for purchase through the company’s partnership with Instacart, a grocery delivery service.

CDC, FDA, and public health and regulatory officials in several states are investigating an outbreak of Salmonella infections that has sickened 68 people in nine states. Fourteen people have been hospitalized; no deaths have been reported.

The items were also available for purchase through Instacart. If customers have product affected by this voluntary recall, they should discard it immediately or return it to their local store for a full refund.
